Actress Helen Baendale at village's film screening

ACTRESS Helen Baxendale is to introduce a movieʼs first screening outside London at a village near Burton, it has been revealed. The Friends, Cold Feet and Truth or Dare star will visit Alrewas tomorrow with her producer-director husband David Williams to introduce the award-winning comedy Beyond the Pole.
The screening will be staged as a ‘thank you’ to the community for co-operating during the production’s filming, and all of the money raised from the 4pm showing, and another at 7.30pm, will go to support the 2010 Alrewas Arts Festival and the Village Hall Fund.
Described as ‘funny and subversive’, the movie’s story is centred on a documentary following the ‘first carbon neutral, organic, vegetarian expedition’ ever to attempt the North Pole.
Ms Baxendale, who originates from Shenstone, near Lichfield, selected the area to screen the film because it was her former home stomping ground.
As well as the actress, the cast includes Stephen Mangan (Green Wing), Rhys Thomas (Bellamy’s People), Rosie Cavaliero (Jam and Jerusalem) and Alexander Skarsgard (True Blood).
