Is FOX about to pull an O.C. on Glee?

"Glee" fans, get ready to set your DVRs an hour earlier.

That's the early word from the Fox schedule, which the net is prepping to announce tomorrow morning.

According to various drips and drabs of intel, it looks like Fox will schedule established hits in the 8 p.m. hour in order to launch new series at 9 p.m.

That includes bringing a comedy hour to Tuesdays -- but at 9 p.m., instead of the 8 p.m. hour that everyone had been predicting.

"Glee" at 8 p.m. makes a lot of sense when you think about the symmetry between it and "American Idol," which airs on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. in midseason. (Yes, folks, "Idol" will stick with its normal Tuesday-Wednesday game plan in the winter. Given the upheaval the show is about to face without Simon Cowell, the network isn't about to add to that stress by moving its long-established air pattern.)

Fox wouldn't confirm the news, and considering that the show's Ryan Murphy had been campaigning against such a time slot shift, it may not come to fruition. But it was looking likely as of Sunday.

Meanwhile, like NBC, Fox plans to hold several new heavy hitters back for midseason (or, as the network now likes to call it, "Second Season"). That includes Shawn Ryan's highly anticipated new Chicago-set cop drama "Ridealong."

Here's what Fox's schedule appears to be looking like -- with the big caveat that Fox isn't commenting on rumors and speculation (new series in CAPS):

MONDAYS

8 - "House"
9 - "LONE STAR"

TUESDAYS

8 - "Glee"
9 - "RUNNING WILDE" and "FOR HOPE'S SAKE" (formerly known as "KEEP HOPE ALIVE")

WEDNESDAYS

8 - "Hell's Kitchen" (or another Gordon Ramsay show)
9 - NEW SHOW or "The Good Guys" (not sure about this slot)

THURSDAYS

8 - "Bones"
9 - "Fringe"

FRIDAYS

8 - "Lie to Me"
9 - "Human Target" (or vice versa)

SATURDAYS and SUNDAYS

The same

MIDSEASON

"RIDEALONG"
"TRAFFIC LIGHT"
"BOB'S BURGERS" (to join Fox's "Animation Domination" Sunday)
"TERRA NOVA" (unless all the special effects means it can't go until fall 2011)
