If Pretty Little Liars is "Desperate Housewives for teens," ABC's upcoming crime drama The Gates vows to be "Desperate Housewives meets Buffy the Vampire Slayer."
The Gates, set to premiere on June 20, revolves around big city-cop Nick Monahan, who gets assigned as chief of police of what appears to be a sleepy suburban community nestled atop a picturesque mountain. Each street is lined with perfectly manicured homes protected by the massive iron gates, and Nick and his family expect a change in pace from their complicated life in Chicago.

Prison Break alum Frank Grillo will play the cop in the supernatural crime drama, while Luka Mably of The Prince and Me will appear as a vampire-cardiologist, one of the residents of the community. Janina Gavankar from The L Word will play a local cop with a dark past, and finally Chadra West will play a tea shop owner.
