The first teaser trailer for Treme came out today and HBO also released the first teaser trailer for Boardwalk Empire. Also, news about How to Make it in America.



"Boardwalk Empire," the HBO series based on Atlantic County Superior Court judge Nelson Johnson's history of corruption and crime in Atlantic City, isn't set to debut until later this year, but that doesn't mean you can't steal a glimpse of it now.

Its trailer is 57 seconds of quick cuts set against a percussive, moody soundtrack. There are ample images of series co-stars, including Steve Buscemi, above, and Michael Pitt, -- but only one brief glimpse of the Boardwalk -- interspersed with the following words set in red:

In 1920

Alcohol was outlawed

Outlaws became kings

And empires were born

Gunshots pierce the clip at 48 seconds, followed by the words Boardwalk Empire. Makes you wish the series was available now.

HBO's long-in-development comedy "How to Make It in America" will see the light of day in February.

The show, which focuses on a pair of would-be entrepreneurs (Byran Greenberg and Victor Rasuk) trying to climb the ladder in New York, will premiere Sunday, Feb. 14. "How to Make It," which was picked up in December 2008, comes from the producing team behind "Entourage."

HBO has ordered eight episodes of the show, which follows Brooklynites Ben Epstein (Greenberg, "October Road") and Cam Calderon (Rasuk, "Stop-Loss," "Che") as they try to establish themselves in the fashion business. They get an assist from Cam's cousin Rene (Luis Guzman, "John from Cincinnati") -- who's working on a business idea himself -- and their friend Domingo (Scott "Kid Cudi" Mescudi).

"How to Make It" also stars Lake Bell ("It's Complicated") as Ben's ex-girlfriend; Martha Plimpton ("200 Cigarettes") as Bell's boss; Eddie Kaye Thomas ("'Til Death," "American Pie") as a high-school friend of Ben's who works on Wall Street; and Shannyn Sossamon ("Moonlight") as a friend of Ben and Cam.

Ian Edelman wrote the pilot, which the "Entourage" crew of Mark Wahlberg, Stephen Levinson, Rob Weiss and Julian Farino (who directed the first three episodes) are executive producing. Edelman and Jada Miranda are also exec producers.
