Syracuse, NY -- A Syracuse man had a reception party waiting for him as he stepped off the bus from New York City Tuesday afternoon — members of the Syracuse Police Special Investigations Division.
Acting on a tip that a large amount of heroin was being delivered, police took Jeffrey J. Williams, 27, of 1016 Hawley Ave., Apt. 2, into custody after his bus from downstate arrived at 5 p.m. at the Regional Transportation Center.
Using a search warrant, police searched Williams and his luggage. Police found 400 glassine bags each containing a tan powder that tested positive for heroin in Williams’ pants, police records state. Each bag was stamped in red ink with the words "Lady Gaga," records state.
Altogether, police found 15.6 grams of heroin with an estimated street value of up to $6,000, police records state.
Williams was charged with two felony counts and a misdemeanor count of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
